Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house using a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence revenue doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is read more open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait 2025 nsfas application for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid here delays in the processing of their application.
